Aston Martin has gone ahead with a multi-million pound plant expansion at its headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire. The site will feature a new chassis and pilot build facility, brand new offices, and an extension of the storage area for parts and logistics. The company has an aim to increase its workforce and improve manufacturing capabilities, and as such the expansion will open 250 jobs for the area. Aston Martin have also started on a recruitment drive to increase its Gaydon workforce.
The additional facilities are expected to be completed by 2015, with Aston Martin stating that this is a crucial element in its “long-term strategy which is focused around being the number one British luxury sports car brand." With the new facilities in place, Aston Martin is ready to work on its next generation of sports vehicles.
The Gaydon expansion originated as part of a 2012 £500 million investment plan from Aston Martin's foreign backers. The company is currently developing a replacement for its DB9 model, and there are future possibilities of an updated Lagonda release.
