Aston Martin reveals the V12 Vantage S Roadster

16th July 2014

Motorists in the UK have been thrilled by the unveiling of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster – the fastest convertible ever from the manufacturer. The soft top car has a more prominent 'floating' front grille than in previous incarnations, and this can now be specified in either black or silver. Buyers will also have the option of a special graphics package, which adds a contrasting grille surround and a smart black bar between the rear lights. On the inside of the vehicle, the personalisation options continue with red tinted carbon fibre accenting from the exclusive 'Q by Aston Martin' collection – this is also available for the exterior.

Equipped with the stunning 6.0-litre V12 engine from the Vanquish, the new S model delivers 55bhp more than the previous V12 Roadster. This has been achieved with the support of a new seven-speed automated manual gearbox. At 565bhp and 510Nm of torque available from only 1,000rpm, it soars to 60mph within five seconds on the ascent to a new top speed of 201mph.

The stainless steel exhaust pipe configuration and intelligent engine management system are also new to the convertible. Normal, Track and Sport driving models will be selectable, adapting the three-stage dampers and steering to the current road conditions.
