The home of iconic British manufacturer Aston Martin celebrated its 60th anniversary last week with a pre-Christmas party. The showroom in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire has been producing classic Aston Martin cars including the DB5 and original Vanquish for the last 60 years.
The anniversary celebrations took place on Friday 12th December and included hundreds of VIP guests from across the UK and Europe. Also in attendance was a variety of classic and new Aston Martin cars including the all new exclusive 60th anniversary limited edition Vanquish sports car. The stunning cars created by the design team at Aston Martin and the brand's bespoke personalisation service, Q by Aston Martin are set to be built at the Newport Pagnell showroom. The majority of the new Vanquish cars have already been snapped up by Aston Martin enthusiasts who are keen to have their own piece of the works heritage.
The new limited edition Vanquish
It wasn't only new cars on display at the event, rare models such as the DBS which starred in the 1970's TV show The Persuaders alongside former Bond satr Roger Moore and legendary Holywood icon Tony Curtis. Also on display was an iconic Aston Martin DB5 and the last model ever to be made at the Newport Pagnell factory before they moved production to Warwickshire in 2007 – the V12 Vanquish.
Speaking at the launch event was Paul Spires Commercial Director at Aston Martin Works he said of the new limited edition Vanquish model: “Designed by Marek Reichman and his team these limited edition Vanquish sports cars are a celebration of 60 glorious years of Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell.
“Strictly limited to just six cars, each one representing a decade of our operations here, these are truly ultra-rare collectors' items and a fitting beginning to our year-long celebrations."
Aston Martin Works are planning numerous events over the coming months to celebrate their 60th anniversary; details are to be announced shortly.
