Aston Martin Rapide is Popular in Readers Vote

For the third consecutive time, the Aston Martin Rapide has won in the category of Luxury Class Imported, the vote for the Best Cars 2012 of the German car magazine auto motor und sport (ams).  The DB9/DBS Volante took second place in the Convertibles Imported, and the DB9/DBS Coupe made third place in the Sports Cars Imported.  A great triumph for the British luxury brand.

Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr. Ulrich Bez said at the award ceremony in Struttgart: “This successful launch for the new automobile year 2012 confirms Aston Martin’s dynamic development in Germany last year… (The Rapide) has established itself as an elegant thoroughbred sports car with four doors and four sports seats in a highly competitive market.”

The Aston Martin took the title with a clear win of 33.8 per cent of the readers’ votes, beating the second place holder who only achieved 14.5 per cent of the vote.  Only a couple of days ago, the Rapide won the same competition for the Motorpresse publishers in Switzerland.  The readers of the magazine, Auto Illustrierte named the Aston Martin Rapide as Best Luxury car in Switzerland, competing against all the luxury brands in the Swiss market.

The German magazine, auto motor und sport has over 116,000 readers who took part in the election of “Best Cars”.  This is the 36^th award ceremony that has taken place in which the readers decide who wins from a selection of 300 models in ten categories.
