Chrysler sales risen by 17 percent during May
4th June 2014
Sales of Chrysler vehicles within the USA rose by 17 percent during May; a period in which sales rose to their highest in seven years. Chrysler has reported that 166,596 units were sold during the month, representing its best May figures since 2007 and achieving above the predicted estimates of 14 percent.
The Chrysler group brand that showed the biggest increase were the Jeep SUVs, where sales rose by 58 percent overall. There has been high demand for Chrysler's new Jeep Cherokee small SUV in particular, and this has helped the brand reach record sales for its third consecutive month. The Jeep Cherokee is newly available in the UK, and an off-road ready model will go on-sale at a later date in 2014. These new models represent an integral part of Fiat-Chrysler's five-year plan for a focus of growing sales within the European market, with hopes of achieving a 20 percent boost in Jeep sales by 2018.
