The New Chrysler 300C
18th January 2012
The next generation Chrysler 300C is to go on sale in March and priced from £35,000 to £40,000, according to Chrysler the new car is to ‘offer Audi A8 space at an Audi A6 price.’
The new Chrysler will have two 3.0 litre V6 turbo diesel engines, producing 188bhp and 236bhp. Coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission but towards the end of the year an eight speed auto is meant to be available. The fuel economy for both engines is the same, 39mpg with CO2 outputs of 185g/km.
Unfortunately, Chrysler are not offering the UK a V6 petrol engine or the option for an estate variant, as the American market seem to dislike it, so it is not logical to produce the variant for Europe.
The new Chrysler 300C drives superbly with cruising refinement so perfect for motorway driving and the more powerful engine provides enough energy to overtake easily.
The interior is luxurious with copious space for the driver and passengers. Chrysler has decided to opt for a metal finish which brightens up the cabin, along with soft fabrics and leather to give the image of a premium car.
The equipment used is exceptional, with cup holders that cool or heat and an 8.4 inch touch screen which operates the satellite navigation, audio system, heated seats and climate control. With all the technology controlled via the screen it leaves the centre control uncluttered and simple.
