American car manufacturers Chrysler were founded in 1925, Michigan by Walter P. Chrysler. The first car to be built under the Chrysler name was the Chrysler Six. Walter Chrysler was banned from showcasing his first car at the New York Auto Show as it wasn't officially on sale yet so he set up a display of the Chrysler Six in nearby Hotel Commodore showroom causing a media frenzy, it worked as in its first year it sold nearly 32,000 units. Walter P. Chrysler was also instrumental in the building of the famous Chrysler skyscraper in New York, where he had his office and a Chrysler showroom on the first floor. The Chrysler name is synonymous with affordable luxury, and innovative top-flight engineering.
