Top Gear Magazine has named the new Citroen C4 Cactus as its 'Hatchback of the Year' in their annual car of the year awards. The annual awards are chosen by the magazines writers who include Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkston, Richard Hammond and James May who regularly test drive new cars and technologies. The judges said they were won over with the Cactus's “elegant use of simple resources" and its “bubbly styling".
The Citroen C4 Cactus which was released earlier this year is the first ever vehicle to feature unique Airbump® technology which is fitted on the front side and rear panels of the car to protect from outside bumps and scrapes. The Cactus also features new innovative safety features including a world first roof mounted passenger airbag and Magic Wash windscreen wipers which saves on wash consumption.
The quirky C4 Cactus is proving to be a popular choice for UK drivers, it was recently named 'Best Crossover' at the Green car of the Year awards and has also been shortlisted for ' Small SUV of the Year' at the much anticipated What Car Awards in January.
Speaking of the Citroen C4 Cactus latest award James Parfett, Citroën UK's Communications Director, said; “With the New C4 Cactus, we're making a bold response to the changing needs and priorities of today's car owners and we're very proud that this has been recognised by such a prestigious and popular publication as BBC TopGear Magazine. The New C4 Cactus stands out in a competitive marketplace as a visually striking model that combines efficiency and practicality in a unique blend of form and function. The judges' comments, that the New C4 Cactus is a car that is heading in a new direction and beating the competition in the process, is a pleasing endorsement of this new philosophy."
The full list of winners can be found in the latest issue of Top Gear magazine which is out now.
