Charles Hurst Dacia are very proud to support Ulster Rugby in Northern Ireland by supporting a fantastic match up in Irish rugby league - The NI Elks and ROI Eagles
Playing representative rugby league isn't a new concept. There has been, in the past, games between the old northern and southern conferences. Origin is a step change from that as it introduced the NI Elks and the ROI Eagles to the game, and this formatted the pathway for the domestic player to achieve selection for the Irish Wolfhounds National Rugby League team.
The concept of origin is simple; a two mach series, home and away, with the winner taking the title of origin champions. The Northern Ireland Elks are the current champions, they defeated the ROI Eagles both home and away last year to take the title.
This year the NI Elks hold their hone game at Malone RFC. The club is a stone's throw away from Ravenhill and has a proud Rugby tradition, with multiple teams of both genders, adults and children and also the first youth team for Rugby League on the island of Ireland.
Origin in its current guise as launched in 2014. In 2015 we added an u19s competition to the day and this year we are looking to further expand, with an u17s series. The end goal being origin throughout all age groups and genders, to make it a truly special event that encompasses all that is good about the game of rugby league and the people that play it, officiate it and watch it.
Arguably the most prestigious match up in Irish rugby league, the game will be decided by a combination of skill, heart and, over 80 minutes of intense action, sheer resilience. It is a game only for the toughest.
The qualities these players take on the pitch match those that Dacia design their cars to take out on the road. Robust, straightforward, honest – they are the motoring equivalent of our league stars.
It’s no wonder Dacia is the Official Car Partner of Rugby League. To celebrate this partnership, Dacia have launched a special edition of their Duster model – the UK’s best value crossover family vehicle. Dacia dealer, Charles Hurst are proud supporters of Rugby league in Northern Ireland will be supporting the match on Saturday 12th August.
The special edition Dacia Duster is perfect for rugby league fans and their families too. Protective side mouldings, additional wheel arch protection and chrome front and side bars make these the toughest Dusters on the road. The new boot liner is designed to minimise dirt from muddy kit and boots, while a 24-litre refrigerated cool box is ideal for storing post-match refreshments – or in-match food and drinks, if you’re spectating rather than playing.
