The most important names in the automotive industry where out in force last week at the annual What Car, Car of the Year awards in London. The event which was held at the beautiful Grosvenor House Hotel recognised the winners in each class including 'Best Family Car, Best Electric Car and many more. The awards are watched by those working in the industry and the car buying public as they give a good indication of what cars are likely to be the most popular in the coming twelve months. Kia were commended for their popular Kia cee'd Sportswagen 1.4 CRDi 1 ISG which was named by What Car as the 'Best Buy' Estate car under £18,000.
The popular estate which beat off stiff competition from BMW and Ford was praised for its fuel efficiency, equipment levels, its safety, practicality and low insurance costs. The Kia cee'd Sportswagen is one of the South Korean manufacturers most efficient and reliable cars and features a raft of standard equipment. All models come with electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment and a height-adjustable driver's seat, air conditioning, and steering wheel-mounted controls. For in-car entertainment the Kia Cee'd Sportswagen has USB and Bluetooth connectivity, and an iPod compatible audio system with radio and CD player.
Speaking of the Kia Cee'd Sportswagen's commendation What Car editor Jim Holden said: "The cee'd estate is a very well rounded, honest car that's impossible to ignore at this price point. It's nice to drive with a forgiving ride and light controls. The 510-litre boot is more than capable of handling a weekend away, with a long, fat load bay, extra storage under the boot floor, and room for four adults to sit in comfort. As a cheap, hassle-free ownership prospect, it's hard to beat."
