To build anticipation for the new, performance-oriented Range Rover Sport, Land Rover has released two 15-second teaser clips of the camouflaged model testing at the Nürburgring.
The vehicle could be the first to be produced and developed by the just-announced Special Operations Division created by Jaguar Land Rover. When the Range Rover Sport debuts, it will do so as the highest-spec Sport 4x4.
Glimpses of the vehicle show it's in late stages of production, and enlarged twin exhaust pipes were briefly visible. The Range Rover Sport is likely to stand on bigger wheels and be underpinned by a new, reworked suspension system.
Jaguar is lending a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 to the Sport model, which will generate an additional 32bhp over the previous version of the 4x4. In testing, Land Rover is aiming for a 0-60mph time of no more than five seconds.
Unconfirmed rumours would suggest that a UK debut for the 'hot' new Range Rover Sport could take place at the upcoming 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The manufacturer has not verified the news at the time of writing.
