Incredible to drive, the new GS F four-door sports saloon is powered by a hand built 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine delivering 477 DIN hp and a top speed of 168 mph. Equipped with a race bred eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission and Torque Vectoring Differential, the GS F’s high-speed performance and handling characteristics were perfected on the Nürburgring in Germany.

Tested at the gruelling Nürburgring 24-hour race and Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado, this new 5.0-litre V8 engine resets benchmarks for sports performance. Normal aspiration means immediate response, with no lag, and a dramatic sound. The cylinder head and other moving parts are engineered by Yamaha Motorsport (who supplied the LFA supercar’s V10 powerplants) while final assembly takes place at our Tahara plant. In clean room conditions, each engine undergoes rotational balancing and stethoscope tests that result in smooth yet incredibly responsive acceleration. Further to the above, for a rousing acoustic experience, Active Sound Control - a technology also developed for the LFA - blends engine and exhaust notes, creating an awesome GS F soundtrack.
The new GS F is built at our award-winning Motomachi plant by Lexus ‘Takumi’ craftsmen. With at least 25 years of experience, each is an expert at detecting the tiniest imperfections. You’ll sense their amazing skill when you first touch the precision machined aluminium audio controls or beautifully stitched leatherwork.
Gleaming paintwork is painstakingly wet sanded by hand to ensure a perfect finish. Before a final test drive, the ‘Takumi’ check each car for smooth running in a ‘quiet room’ using their highly trained ears and a sensitive microphone placed strategically in the cabin.
The V8 engine delivers power via an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift sequential transmission with manual override. Select Manual mode and use shift paddles to enjoy rapid sports performance. When paddle downshifting (in just 0.2 seconds) you’ll experience the unique sound of the throttle ‘blipping’ between gears.
Safety in the GS is taken very seriously – a raft of occupant protection, impact avoidance and driver aid technologies are on hand to ensure a safe journey each time you drive. The dynamic control systems that deliver the most confident drive are also there to provide an assured drive whatever the conditions. Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, are just two of the clever safety ideas that are packed into this car.
