Nissan has long given an aerodynamic design to its sports cars and the GT-R is no exception. The body features a carbon fibre rear diffuser for low drag, alloy wheels and die-cast front shock towers, High Intensity Discharge headlights, and a rear spoiler that can be upgraded to carbon fibre for an additional cost. Even the paint is high-performance, with the exterior getting an advanced six-stage paint process that keeps the colour from chipping over time.
Inside of the Nissan GT-R, drivers will find all of the standard technological advances, including power front windows, adjustable seats, heated front seats, and a voice recognition system. The car also allows buyers to choose either a black or red-coloured interior and all models feature an AM/FM/CD sound system with 11 speakers and an LCD dash display for keeping up with performance output and navigation assistance.
One of the most interesting features about the GT-R is that it has an actual backseat. Passengers who ride in the back can relax in separated rear seats, rather than the typical miniature bench seating in most sports cars. Along with its comfortable cockpit, the GT-R is also designed with safety in mind. Drivers and passengers are protected by side and front airbags.
While the Nissan GT-R interior features are impressive, the engine performance is even more of an accomplishment. The car can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds, thanks to its 3.8 litre, 545 horsepower, twin-turbo V6 engine that is capable of 463 lb-ft of torque. Having such a powerful motor helps the GT-R reach a top speed of 315 kilometres an hour. With a car that fast, the suspension and brakes are essential for good road handling. On the GT-R, drivers have front and rear suspension and a four-wheel disc braking system to balance out the high performance under the hood. All of the GT-R models have six-speed transmission, but drivers can choose either an automatic or a manual control.
Drivers who purchase a Nissan GT-R in a cold climate can opt for the Cold Weather Package, which includes special all-season tyres for better road grip. Those who want the exterior paint job to look even sleeker might want to buy the Super Silver Special Metallic Paint option, which is an eight-stage paint process that includes hand polishing for maximum gloss.
With first class grip, swift handling and an edgy style both inside and out, the new Nissan GT-R offers an impressively sporty driving experience. Great traction, powerful acceleration, a comfortable spacious interior and plenty of standard kit all add to the undeniable appeal of the new Nissan GTR.
