For transporting substantial loads, the Peugeot Boxer is a flexible take on the larger commercial van. It has an imposing front face that means business, with the engine power and high load limit to prove its capabilities.
When you get into the cab, it's clear that an emphasis has been placed on enduring passenger comfort. The driver's seat incorporates lumbar adjustment for a more personal level of support, and armrests are fitted between the front seats and at both doors.
Using the two gloveboxes, overhead storage and deep door pockets, it's easy to bring along everything you need and keep the most important items handy. 12-volt sockets allow for mobile device charging on the move, cabin and load bay lighting makes searching inside simpler, and the many helpful instruments include a digital trip recorder.
It's a straight choice between panel van and window van styles when you choose a Peugeot Boxer, and both are just as functional on the outside as they are on the inside. The window van comes with a left-hand sliding side door, and the panel van has a matching one on the right. Double rear doors on both models add significantly to the accessibility.
You also have more colour options with the Boxer to match your business branding and image, including smart reds and blues alongside new Horizon Yellow. White, black and grey are still available, and they all look smart against the black front bumper. The van's expressive face is completed with dazzling halogen headlights, and fog lights feature at the rear either side of a high-mounted third brake light.
As expected from the Peugeot van range, the model comes with a varied selection of 2.2-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines that all deliver on power, strength and efficiency. The range spans from 110bhp to 180bhp, with the mid-range Stop & Start engine producing the highest peak economy of 39.2mpg combined.
The Boxer easily handles and carries up to 1.9 tonnes of payload, which is secured within a load area of between eight and 15 cubic metres – 17 with the Professional panel van version. Dependent on the van size chosen, you'll find at least eight secure tie-down hooks in the cargo area.
As one of the higher-spec Peugeot vans, the Boxer comes with DAB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity and USB compatibility as standard. It is also equipped with digital journey displays for trip data, mileage and time.
The advances in technology and forward-thinking features naturally extend to the safety equipment: ESP with traction control, ABS, deadlocks and front airbags are all included. When you're not working, trust fully in the alarm and Thatcham immobiliser fitted to the Boxer in every configuration.
