A leading supplier of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to the
UK is to take Renault's all-electric ZOE on a tour of the nation, to
highlight the abilities of the vehicle segment and the charging
infrastructure already in place.
Pod Point will cover 2,000 miles in the model, and the French carmaker will sponsor the test of the ZOE's strengths. The marathon drive begins in London on June 12, and will include stops in 15 towns and cities across Britain during the 17-day stint. At the end of the journey, the ZOE will have travelled the length of the country, from John O'Groats to Land's End.
Pod Point is aiming to demonstrate the everyday practicality EVs now deliver, and that with more and more public spaces now including charging points, the move away from combustion power is straightforward. To do so, the ZOE will stop to recharge at a variety of locations including residential addresses, gyms, supermarkets and petrol stations.
There won't be a need to stop often, as the model boasts a class-leading range of over 120 miles on a full charge thanks to the 'Range Optimiser' system Renault fits as standard with all trim grades. Alongside the obvious running costs and zero emission benefits, the ZOE is also stylish and comfortable, making it a real alternative to petrol and diesel vehicles.
