Details and specifications have been released for the update to the
popular Renault Trafic van in advance of its official launch later this
Since the original debut of the Trafic in 1980, over 1.6 million models have been sold. It returns with substantial changes to keep it in the lead for the city van category. There are Crew Van and Platform Cab versions, a choice of wheelbases, and Business, Business+ and Sport trims.
The revisions to the van are clear, as even the recognisable shape of the Renault has changed to include wider headlights and a wrap-around protective front bumper. The Trafic also sports a more sloped windscreen to enhance the bold front face.
From entry level, the equipment list includes electric front windows, a full steel bulkhead, heated door mirrors and a USB-compatible DAB digital radio system. Drivers can also count on the traction control and Hill Start Assist technologies. Upgrading to Business+ - a choice expected to be popular with motorists - adds flexible features such as a smartphone dock and folding passenger seat with removable A4 clipboard.
To power the Trafic, two turbocharged diesel engines with increased torque are being introduced to the range. The van style, power systems and many customisation options available from launch will ensure that the Renault becomes one of the most versatile vans in its class.
