WHAT IS A TIMING BELT?

The timing belt is a rubber belt which keeps the crankshaft in sync with the camshaft, ensuring the proper timing and operation of the engine valves.

WHY DOES A TIMING BELT NEED REPLACED?

Over time, timing belts can fail, either from wear and tear or contamination by an engine leak. An overly tight or loose belt, can cause it to fail prematurely. So, if your car is either over seven years-old or has covered more than 60,000 miles, it is advisable to replace your timing belt, which can seize causing damage to your engine, at appropriate intervals.

WHEN SHOULD I REPLACE THE TIMING BELT?

  • When your vehicle is more than 5 years old
  • Has covered more than 60,000 miles

WHAT WILL A TIMING BELT CHANGE COST ME?

The Manufacturer Recommended Retail Price of a Timing Belt replacement service is £528.

We are offering this service at a reduced rate of now only £299 inc VAT.*

That is an incredible saving of £229!

All of our Technicians are maunfatruer trained and use only genuine parts and the lasted equipment to sure your complete peace of mind.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF A BELT BREAKAGE?

Timing belt failure will cause the engine's pistons to collide with the exhaust valves. This will result in the valves becoming bent and the engine’s cylinder head will need to be removed and replaced. Pistons can also become holed, cylinder heads can be damaged and camshafts can be broken.

The repair costs of a severely damaged engine, can run in excess of several thousands of pounds and a full replacement may work out as a more cost effective solution.

You may not notice much difference in your car’s performance after a timing belt change, but the extra peace of mind gained from knowing you engine is in the best possible condition is worth the additional periodic outlay.
