Vauxhall was recognised for its commitment to employees and the
excellence of its practices by achieving the respected Investors in
People Standard for all its sites in 2012. The body has commended the
carmaker once again this year.
Vauxhall has been presented with the Investors in People Gold Award, which demonstrates its ongoing focus on the satisfaction of its workforce. Vauxhall Motors human resources director Phil Millward commented:
“Since achieving the Investors in People Standard across all sites back in 2012, I made it Vauxhall's aim to achieve the Gold Award. I am delighted that this year Vauxhall has achieved the highest award and been recognised for its ongoing efforts as a high performing organisation. The award recognises our objective to be a workplace of choice for all employees and our strong and constant focus on the people."
The carmaker has manufactured vehicles in the UK since 1903, and currently employs approximately 3,500 at its domestic sites. Its headquarters in Luton is also the location for production of the Vivaro van, while a second plant in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire produces the Astra hatchback.
Supporting Vauxhall with its operations is a broad dealership network that delivers not only new car sales but servicing and repairs to the brand's high standards. Motorists in Belfast, Lisburn and Portadown are fortunate to have access to Charles Hurst's own authorised Vauxhall dealership.
