One of the model launches already anticipated for the Paris Motor
Show in October is for the new Vauxhall Corsa. Alongside futuristic
concepts and high-performance powerhouses, this compact hatchback is
attracting considerable attention. Some are saying it could be 2015's
biggest-selling car, and Vauxhall is building the excitement by
releasing fresh details.
The supermini class is one of the most significant in European car production, and continues to be an important segment for motorists choosing a new vehicle. The 2015 Corsa will be the fifth generation, and has been extensively revised and updated.
A prototype has been seen, heavily camouflaged yet with a distinctive Corsa silhouette. The cabin was also extensively covered to leave much of the design to the imagination for the time being. On launch the model is expected to lead the car class on interior quality, and to arrive with a selection of new and more powerful engines including a 1.0-litre 'turbo triple' petrol at 113bhp.
Even the suspension and steering on the Corsa are predicted to be overhauled for higher responses and accuracy, and greater driving enjoyment in turn.
