Aston Martin Vanquish and Rapide S receive updated models

20th August 2014

Aston Martin is planning on upgrading its Vanquish GT and Rapide S sports cars, bringing a range of improvements that will enhance the driving experience of the vehicles. Performance is a priority, as are developments in fuel economy and reduced carbon emissions.

The exterior of the vehicles will receive stylistic upgrades in the form of new exclusive paint options, and the interior is now available in a number of new leather trim variations. These include colour schemes such as Fandango Pink, Sahara Tan and Vibrant Red.

The new improvements made to the Vanquish GT and Rapide S engine capabilities mean that the vehicles will be able to achieve speeds of approximately 200mph. The Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic gearbox will make its debut with these models, and will aid the cars in lowering their 0-60mph speeds. The Vanquish is now capable of 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds, and the Rapide S in 4.2 seconds. Carbon emissions have been reduced by an overall average of 10 percent for both vehicles, with the Rapide S giving out 300g/km and the Vanquish giving 298g/km. The vehicles are able to utilise improved fuel economy bringing them to 31mpg, which represents an 11 percent improvement on previous models.
