Aston Martin has finally revealed the first details of its most powerful and uncompromising Vantage to date; the track-inspired Vantage GT3 special edition.
The new Vantage has been inspired by Aston Martin's successful racing campaigns and is comprised of everything that defines Vantage; delivering an inspirational sports model offering both supreme driveability on the road and dynamic performance on the track.
The GT3 special edition has been significantly restyled and is noticeably lower and wider than any of its predecessors. Its features are bold and brave, with new flared carbon fibre wings, carbon fibre bonnet, carbon-fibre door casings, optional carbon fibre roof, optional weight-saving polycarbonate rear window and rear quarter windows to name just a few. With the car weighing in at only 1,565 kg2, determination to lower the mass has also paid off.
The car has been comprehensively re-engineered, and under the skin a number of bespoke engineering upgrades can be found aside from the new 600 PS V12 engine. Magnesium inlet manifolds with revised geometry, a lightweight magnesium torque tube and a full titanium exhaust system with centre outlets are just a few of the features that underline the rigorous re-engineering of this exclusive new Vantage.
Announcing the arrival of the Vantage GT3 special edition, Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said: “Motorsport is in our blood at Aston Martin. The Vantage is the car we campaign in top level sports car racing around the world and so it seems only fitting that we offer an exclusive, limited edition Vantage that expertly fuses our motorsport know-how with our road car prowess."
We are certain that you will want this car, which unfortumatley leads to just three problematic issues. Firstly, it costs £250,000. Secondly, only 100 are being made. And, last but not least, they have all been sold, with first customer deliveries beginning in the third quarter of 2015.
