Citroën and Teletrac produce 100,000 enhanced vans

18th June 2014

The long-standing Citroën and Teletrac partnership reached a milestone recently, when a Berlingo van became the 100,000 th Citroën LCV to feature Teletrac's telematics system.

Teletrac, the software specialist, worked together with Citroën to develop the sophisticated telematics platform especially for the LCV range. Today the software comes fitted as standard in all Berlingo, Dispatch, and new Relay panel vans.

Complementing the French manufacturer's evolved engineering, the software system cuts running costs, enhances productivity and improves the driving experience. The package includes Smartnav satellite navigation and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking – ideal for business motorists in particular.

An optional extra is the Fleet Director real-time fleet management service. This tool allows organisations to co-ordinate multiple vehicles for maximum efficiency, and is proven to significantly lower CO 2 emissions. Tests of the service have also shown that driver stress levels drop by an incredible 33 percent when using Teletrac – the 'white van man' image could be a thing of the past.

Other impressive studies have found that the Citroën-Teletrac partnership can save the estimated equivalent of 20,000 working days per year through avoidance of traffic and congestion. In addition, the Trackstar stolen vehicle recovery system operates at a near 100 percent success rate, and usually finds missing vans in under an hour.
