Citroën’s C1 recognised for affordable insurance costs

9th June 2014

Insurance premiums are one running cost that depends largely on the driver’s personal profile, and Citroën’s C1 allows buyers of all experience levels to enjoy lower rates when compared to many other vehicles.

According to comparison website, the model is among the cheapest to insure, and also boasts lower lifetime costs than a large number of its rivals. The latest-generation C1 arrives at UK dealerships in July, and it looks set to build on the outgoing model’s success.

Citroën will offer two engine options, and each has been refined and advanced to deliver exceptional clean performance. With the e-VTi 68 Airdream unit, buyers benefit from start/stop technology and a five-speed manual gearbox with creep function. The alternative powertrain is the VTi 82 PureTech, a hard-working engine that emits just 99g/km of CO2 as it delivers up to 60mpg combined.

The sub-100g/km CO2 figure means the C1 is exempt from road tax – bringing expenses down even further. When the model’s sophisticated technology, personalisation options and agile performance are also considered, it’s clear to see why many new motorists choose the city car as their first vehicle.
