This month (June 2014), Dacia is delivering the 25,000th new car to a customer in the UK. The incredible achievement comes just 18 months after the brand launched here.

Industry reviewers have praised the Dacia range, positioned within the UK market as the “shockingly affordable” alternative. The manufacturer only very recently passed the 10,000-car milestone, ten months after launch – meaning that the new benchmark more than doubles that figure within a mere eight months. It’s a clear sign that the popularity of Dacia with UK drivers is growing at an exceptional rate.

The 25,000th Dacia was a Sandero Stepway, at the Laureate trim level and fitted with a turbocharged petrol engine. It produces up to 90bhp and 135Nm of torque, covering 0-60mph within 12 seconds. The other key figure from the Stepway is its generous fuel economy, peaking at 52.3mpg combined.

The lucky driver paid less than £10,000 for the vehicle, including all equipment and accessory upgrades selected.
