This car is just my Type!
Just last week I was blown away by the superior handling and the super seductive style of the Jaguar F-PACE.A self-confessed ‘Big Car’ girl, I’ve been, by in large, unimpressed by small sporty numbers.
Until now! Over the weekend I had the absolute pleasure of taking a Jaguar F-Type to meet its ancestors at an E-Type club gathering by the Titanic building in Belfast.
First, let’s talk about the car. This car is everything! It looks tremendous, it sounds tremendous, it feels like power! This car commands attention and if I was a shrinking violet before, I emerged from this car feeling like a goddess! Much like Eva Green walking into a hotel lobby with a pet Jaguar.
This car is special, slinking into its low-slung sports seats was unusual compared to my daily climb into a Range Rover Evoque, but they had a great range of adjustment which was perfect for my 5ft 2” stature. 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds made taking off from traffic lights a moment of triumph, along with growling sports car acoustics, I was feeling pretty smug on the road. That being said, if your choice of F-Type is the SVR, you can enjoy 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. This car is nimble and flicks into corners with confidence, enhanced by precise steering, strong grip and near 50:50 weight distribution.
Now let’s talk about the people. Honestly, I envisioned meeting up with the Old School Gentleman’s Club. This was not the case, these guys embraced the history and heritage of Jaguar. Their knowledge of emerging Jaguar design and engineering was second to none, but more importantly was their story telling! Mr. RJ Robinson raced his Jaguar 3.8 fixed head coupe E-Type in Kirkistown in 1965 achieving the fastest lap time in 1 minute 12 seconds. Mr. Paul Lauden-Brown purchased his 1967 Jaguar Series 7 4.2 Roadster in California 24 years ago. His car track tested at 152.4 MPH at MIRA. These were interesting guys who had a great appreciation for the evolved F-Type and generously gave it pride of place amongst the E-Type line up.
So, my F-Type was a; 2019 3.0L S/C Petrol RWD 2 door Coupe Auto 340PS R-Dynamic. Complete with Black Pack, premium leather interior with red stitching. Also boasting performance seating, rear spoiler, park distance control sensor and rear-view camera. The F-Type range at Charles Hurst starts from £52,310 for the F-Type Coupe, or if you fancy the wind in your hair, you can opt for the F-Type Convertible starting from £57,790. I would encourage you to call a member of our team on 02890 383 463 to explore this car further, if being simply victorious is one of your goals this month!
