As part of a wider plan to refresh the entire range, Kia is bringing a facelifted version of the Sorento to UK drivers. The new family-friendly SUV has a hardworking attitude that also suits business users.
The Sorento has received plenty of subtle design updates, including the 'tiger nose grille' that drivers may recognise from other Kia models. Many exterior details that were previously body coloured are now black or metallic, sharpening the vehicle's overall look. A lighter chassis and modified body give the 4x4 more agility, as well as reduced noise levels in the cabin.
On the inside, there's still ample shoulder and leg room for up to seven adults. The leather upholstery over each plush seat really enhances the comfort for everyone. For the driver's convenience, the dashboard has been reworked with reach and ergonomics in mind. To make more space and get easier access to the rear, the middle bench slides forward and the rear seats fold flat.
There's also an exciting addition to the engine range, in the form of a 2.2-litre turbo diesel that's standard with all versions. Running in permanent four-wheel drive, the SUV handles all terrains with a raised ground clearance and robust wheels. The Sorento makes light work of heavy loads, claiming a towing capacity of around 2.5 tonnes.
When it comes to safety, Kia aims for perfection - and the Sorento's five-star score from EuroNCAP reflects that. The 4x4 is fitted with a full complement of single-stage airbags, Electronic Stability Control and active headrests.
