Families on summer driving holidays benefit from new Nissan safety

Drivers considering taking their Nissan on holiday this summer can be reassured by Nissan's developments in safety systems for their European cars. The advantages of the Lane Departure Warning system have been brought to the fore, and customers can find the technology within the new Note.

Nissan engineers have clocked up over 100,000km (62,000 miles) of real-world European road testing to put the system through its paces. It's highlighted how effective the technology can be on different types of road and narrower lanes – a difference that other lane departure monitoring systems struggle to match.

Research quoted by the manufacturer reveals that children in a car are the biggest distraction to drivers – a larger danger than using a mobile device on the road. Should the car inadvertently drift out of its lane, the consequences for the occupants and other motorists could be severe.

As part of the Lane Departure Warning system, the Around View Monitor camera arrangement keeps tabs on the vehicle's current surroundings. It provides alerts for drivers to prevent drifting, fatigue and accidents – and can even recognise the type of road the car is currently travelling on.

The technology joins Moving Object Detection and Blind Spot Monitoring to comprise the innovative new Nissan Safety Shield package. It arrives with a number of Nissan models and will continue to enhance safety across the range.

At Charles Hurst Nissan you'll discover the Note and the rest of the intelligent new model range. Arrange your test drive at one of our Nissan dealerships in Belfast, Newtownards and Newtownabbey.
