Renault expects 40 percent growth in UK sales for 2014

In a very ambitious move, Renault bosses have openly predicted that the brand's UK vehicle sales for the whole of 2014 will show an increase of 40 percent year-on-year.

The expectation is far more than 100,000 new cars and commercial vehicles from the manufacturer to be sold by the end of the year. A proportion of this success is likely to be attributed to the runaway success of Romanian sub-brand Dacia, which is experiencing incredible popularity less than two years after launching.

Renault has claimed to be the fastest-growing motoring brand in the UK at present, and states it has already sold more than 54,000 new models in 2014 to date. Of those, roughly 32,000 are Renault cars and 13,000 are Dacia vehicles. A 40 percent growth rate would be outperforming the market as a whole by roughly four times, as stated by Renault UK Managing Director Ken Ramirez.

Should the estimates prove correct, Renault would claim four percent of the overall UK vehicle market. The brand is aiming to increase that proportion to more than five percent by 2017.
