The 2014 L.A. Motor Show Pictures

The 2014 L.A. Motor Show kicked off this week with the unveiling of new concepts and designs by many big name brands including Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Toyota. We take a look at some of the most exciting cars soon to be coming to UK roads, and some that we can only dream about!

Mercedes-Maybach

The German car makers have brought back the Maybach name with the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The new model is a luxurious limousine that is 8 inches longer than other S-Class models and has more leg room than some aeroplanes have. What's more the Mercedes-Mayback S-Class is well appointed with diamond quilted leather seats, headrests for passengers and even bespoke pillows!

Jaguar F-Type

The stunning Jaguars sports car the F-Type coupe was unveiled with a manual gearbox and all-wheel drive for the first time since its production at this year's L.A. Motor Show. The F-Type will now be available in 14 various models

Lexus LF C2

This Lexus concept car is unlike anything seen before, it is painted with three different layers of paint, is a 2+2 roadster and has no roof!

Audi Prologue

Audi wanted to show how all of their cars will be designed in the future with the Audi prologue, which they are saying is the sportiest car in the luxury segment on wheels. Similar to the Audi A8 the prologues features a raft of new interior and exterior designs including a re-designed low front single end grille and new 'butler' software which identifies passengers through their smartphones.

Toyota Mirai

Toyota always on top of the latest in technology has designed this futuristic looking world first hydrogen fuelled family car the Toyota Mirai. The Mirai which is set to be released in Japan next month uses the Toyota Fuel Cell System which brings together fuel cell and hybrid technologies.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Although this car won't be available in the UK it has to be mentioned for its menacing looks and extreme power. Ford gave the Shelby GT350 a racing car style paint job and added a 5.2-litre V8 engine to their iconic pony car. Although only available in the U.S the Ford Mustang will be hitting UK shores from next year.

Volkswagen GTI Roadster

Looking at this visually stunning vehicle it's hard to believe it's a Volkswagen; it's powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine giving 503bhp and 491 lb-ft of torque. It has 20" alloy wheels, sliding doors and no roof and is never going to be available to buy – it was a CGI created car for Gran Turismo 6!
