Around the time Gordon Shaw, Billy Lee and Bill Hawkins started their careers with Charles Hurst, the Beatles were in the charts, Dana had won the Eurovision song contest and people were watching Neil Armstrong take his first steps on the moon on black and white TV’s.
Between them the Boucher Road employees have now accumulated a combined 139 years of service and to mark the occasion each was recently presented with a long term service award by Lookers CEO, Andy Bruce.
Speaking of this incredible milestone, Andy commented: "The backbone of any company is loyal and capable staff. It says so much about the individuals themselves that they are prepared to effectively commit their working lives to a business and the vast experience that is built up over the years becomes an invaluable asset. It equally says a lot about a company whose values can encourage such loyalty and we are always striving to make Lookers an even better place to work. I would like to thank Gordon, Billy and Bill for their incredible loyalty"
Amongst only a handful of people within the company to achieve such a landmark, read on to find out a little more about them.
