The election for Car of the Year 2024, which took place on 26th February at the Geneva International Motor Show, was won by Scenic E-Tech electric! Renault's new electric family car won with 329 points ahead of six other finalists, all of whom were strong contenders: the BMW 5 Series, the Toyota CH-R, the BYD Seal, the Kia EV9, the Volvo EX30 and the Peugeot 3008/E-30089.
To understand the success of Scenic E-Tech electric, we need to go back to the first model of this name. In 1996, Renault invented the first compact MPV on the market, the Megane Scenic. It's a vehicle whose cabin was packed with innovations, with the needs of families at the forefront of its design. Scenic E-Tech electric builds on this heritage of almost 30 years by returning in the guise of a model that is now 100% electric.
This fifth generation of Scenic is heading in the direction of more sustainable, safer and more inclusive mobility. A 100% electric vehicle developed on Ampere's AmpR Medium (formerly CMF-EV) platform, Scenic is assembled at the ElectriCity plant in Douai, and benefits from more responsible production, located as close as possible to the countries where it is sold.
Zero emissions in use, agile, light (1890 kg) and compact (4.47 m long), Scenic is at ease in town. For long journeys, it offers up to 379 miles of range* (WLTP), comfort, roominess and driving pleasure enhanced by useful technologies.
Record range, generous interior space and a more sustainable design - all these qualities of Scenic E-Tech electric have now been rewarded with the title of Car of the Year 2024.
