New 2026 Nissan Ariya Brings Updated Design and Advanced EV Features

Nissan has unveiled updates to the Nissan Ariya for the 2026 model year, further enhancing its flagship electric crossover SUV.

Since its launch in 2021, the Ariya has represented Nissan’s vision for electric mobility, combining strong performance, a smooth and quiet driving experience, and a spacious, lounge‑inspired interior. The 2026 update builds on these strengths with a refreshed exterior design, improved ride comfort and advanced technologies to support everyday electric driving.

Design evolution inspired by Japanese futurism

The 2026 Nissan Ariya refines Nissan’s ‘Timeless Japanese Futurism’ design philosophy with an updated front-end appearance, creating a cleaner and more seamless look. A body colour front panel and revised V‑Motion signature give the Ariya a confident, modern presence that reflects its status as a next‑generation electric SUV.

New 19‑inch wheels, combining aluminium and resin materials, introduce a premium visual contrast that enhances the vehicle’s stance. The exterior colour range has also been expanded to include a new Plasma Green finish, inspired by natural light phenomena, alongside a choice of monotone and two‑tone options.

Inside the cabin, a redesigned centre console increases storage capacity to up to 3.2 litres and includes the latest 15W wireless charging technology.

Advanced EV technology for everyday driving

The 2026 Ariya features the latest NissanConnect system with Google built‑in, delivering an enhanced connected experience for drivers.

The standard in‑car route planner powered by Google Maps allows for seamless journey planning. Drivers can simply say, “Hey Google, navigate to Edinburgh Castle,” and the system will calculate the most efficient route, including any required charging stops based on real‑time battery levels.

As part of this process, the vehicle can pre‑condition the battery ahead of charging, ensuring optimal temperature for faster charging performance.

The NissanConnect Services app also allows drivers to remotely monitor battery levels, manage charging sessions, adjust cabin temperature and check tyre pressures directly from their smartphone.

Charging capability and vehicle-to-load functionality

The 2026 Nissan Ariya supports AC charging through an 11kW bi‑directional on‑board charger, enabling Vehicle‑to‑Load functionality. For rapid DC charging, the Ariya delivers speeds of up to 130kW, supporting efficient long‑distance travel.

Vehicle‑to‑Load allows users to power compatible external electrical devices directly from the car, providing up to 3kW of output when stationary. This enables practical uses such as powering appliances or charging devices on the go.

Enhanced comfort and driver support

Ride quality has been improved through revised suspension tuning, delivering greater stability, reduced vibration and a smoother driving experience, particularly on longer journeys.

The Ariya is also equipped with Nissan’s ProPILOT driver assistance technologies, including adaptive distance control functions that support acceleration, braking and stopping in traffic. These systems have been further refined to deliver quicker response times and smoother operation, helping to reduce driver fatigue.

A more refined electric crossover SUV

With updated design, enhanced comfort and advanced EV technology, the 2026 Nissan Ariya continues to strengthen its position as a refined and versatile electric crossover, combining modern styling with everyday usability.

The new Nissan Ariya is expected to be available later this year at Charles Hurst Nissan.
