Customer Focus, Teamwork Drive Charles Hurst to Record Success

Northern Ireland's largest and leading car retailer Charles Hurst Group delivered a record year of success in 2014, maintaining a strong track record in sales of used and new vehicles, increasing growth in its aftersales division and building a solid base for future growth.

Operations Director Colin McNab, said a strong sense of teamwork and dedication from staff had helped to drive growth across all divisions.

“At Charles Hurst, the strength of our business continues to be built on the hard work and commitment of our staff – and our workforce lies at the heart of our success," Colin said.

“The company's strong trading results for 2014 also reflect a broad recovery in the market for both used and new vehicles which highlights a further general improvement in consumer confidence.

“Northern Ireland's car market continues to be well-supported by an increased availability of competitive finance deals, with record-low deposits and upfront transparent monthly pricing arrangements, as well as a wide choice of vehicles to suit every budget.

“Our Usedirect division continued to perform particularly well, further strengthening our position as a market leader in this sector.

“Demand for fleet and business vehicles also remained strong and our aftersales and parts business continues to experience growth.

“The Northern Ireland market, however, continues to be highly competitive and our success will continue to rely on the quality of our customer service and our competitive price offer, though I am confident the dedication, experience and ability of our staff will help to continue to drive and shape our success going forward."

“Our Customers for Life policy and ethos remains the backbone of all our day-to-day work and I'm pleased that this is embraced widely across the group."

Part of one of the UK and Ireland's largest automotive retail companies, Lookers Limited, Charles Hurst operates from 11 locations representing 18 car and two motorcycle franchises, six tyre outlets, an Accident Repair Centre, as well as Fleet Financial. In April, the company expanded its all-island footprint by taking its Usedirect concept to Dublin as part of a major investment which unified its online and physical presence in Ireland.
