The 2024 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is a heavily updated, track-focused homologation special built with direct input from the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). The 2024 model marks the premier application of the Öhlins Smart EC3.0 electronic suspension system on a production motorcycle. Featuring quicker algorithms and faster reaction times than previous generations, the 43mm NPX front forks and TTX36 rear shock can adjust compression and rebound damping on the fly based on road or track modes. It even includes a digital pit-lane setting that adjusts the bike's behavior based on exact rider weight. Addressing criticisms of the punishingly aggressive stance of previous years, Honda revised the "rider triangle" to make it more accessible. The handlebars are raised by 9mm and pulled 23mm closer to the rider, while the footpegs have been dropped by 16mm, alleviating strain during road riding or long track sessions.
