An automatic transmission will manage gear changes on behalf of the driver. Automatic Cars often referred to as an 'Automatic' or 'Auto', do not contain a clutch pedal, making them more straightforward to operate as a driver.
Many customers choose an automatic as it allows the driver to concentrate on navigating the road and managing their journey. This is due to users of automatic vehicles not being required to think about when to change gear, and don’t have to wrestle with finding “the biting point” of the clutch and acceleration at the right moment.
Another difference is the Gear leaver layout:
P (parking) – R (reverse) – N (neutral) – D (drive) – 2 (2nd gear) – 1 (1st gear).
While it may take some practice to drive an automatic car – keeping in mind that only one foot is required to control the brake and accelerator – many actually prefer the driving experience of an Automatic Transmission Vehicle.

(Per your response below, you have my contact details, I'll leave it with you to reach out.) I left my 242 Audi with your service department on Saturday, 23rd May, for a scheduled service. On my drive home afterwards, I noticed light smoke coming from the vehicle along with a strong burning smell. When I arrived home and opened the bonnet, I found oil sprayed throughout the engine bay, pooling on the engine rocker cover and around the ignition coils. Concerned that the engine oil may have been overfilled, I arranged for a local mechanic to inspect the vehicle. He confirmed that the oil level was correct, but advised that the engine had most likely been started without the oil cap properly fitted, or that there had been significant oil overspill during servicing which was blown around the engine bay by wind and the fan while driving home. As a result, I had to take time out of work this morning to return the car to Audi Sandyford. Your team acknowledged that there had been substantial overspill and cleaned the engine bay. However, I was disappointed to be told that “these things happen.†In my opinion, this level of carelessness should not occur during a €500 service, particularly from an authorised Audi dealer. The situation caused unnecessary stress, inconvenience, and loss of time from work, all of which could have been avoided with proper care and attention. While I appreciate that the engine bay was cleaned, I do not believe the issue was handled appropriately, and I feel that some form of partial refund or goodwill gesture would have been reasonable given the circumstances. Hence the review, which I really don't like leaving for any company. David
Friendly service, knowledgeable staff but car got scraped when in for a service. They've accepted it and will be fixed by their Carsmetic department at their expense so its not the end of the world, annoying but there's bigger problems in the world.
First class, 5 star service. The staff of the entire showroom are a credit to Charles Hurst. A special word of thanks to Dean who sorted our car. His communication with us was excellent, every step of the way he kept us informed. His professionalism, care and attention to every detail is of the highest merit, during the entire process. No ask from us was too much trouble. All the staff of the showroom are audibly and visibly trained to the highest standard of customer care and attention. Will definitely return to them to buy a car again. Thank you abundantly for making the entire process a joyous experience.

My wife and I, already being the owners of a Toyota called at Hurst Toyota Newtownabbey to have a look at a possible change.
