An automatic transmission will manage gear changes on behalf of the driver. Automatic Cars often referred to as an 'Automatic' or 'Auto', do not contain a clutch pedal, making them more straightforward to operate as a driver.
Many customers choose an automatic as it allows the driver to concentrate on navigating the road and managing their journey. This is due to users of automatic vehicles not being required to think about when to change gear, and don’t have to wrestle with finding “the biting point” of the clutch and acceleration at the right moment.
Another difference is the Gear leaver layout:
P (parking) – R (reverse) – N (neutral) – D (drive) – 2 (2nd gear) – 1 (1st gear).
While it may take some practice to drive an automatic car – keeping in mind that only one foot is required to control the brake and accelerator – many actually prefer the driving experience of an Automatic Transmission Vehicle.

He arranged a test drive and when we came back he explained everything about the car and what the spec was and colour availability. We didn’t feel pressured and his knowledge was reassuring. Attended the showroom twice in the one week and was really interested in a range rover sport which was in the showroom,first time Attended(Wednesday)i was told they had no sales people available due to trying to get new vehicles ready for delivery, new vehicles arriving into docks and to call back on the Friday Reattended on the Friday with my wife and children ,Inspection of same vechile in showroom, sat in vehicle, Inspection of vehicle,and genuinely really like the vehicle in question, went looking for a member of staff,no one on counter,found a girl in coffee shop after looking in sales area,ask could I speak to someone regarding sale of a new jeep,girl went had a look round for salesman and came back to us and said no-one was available for 3 hours and could she take our number to arrange a phone call to come back and view Still waiting on phone call, worst customer service, have to lose so much business through crap management, went round to bavarian and the difference in professionalism and help was unbelievable, glad to say I bought a bmw,I honestly can't believe how poor the service was in range rover and I was willing to buy this certain vehicle in question but due due to poor service I dealt with in both occasions il never be back Highstreet opinion Is correct ,poor customer service, poor after service when vehicles our brought, don't waste your time ,go see a good dealership like bavarian who have the staff and time for customers Range rover boucher road,AVOID,crap service

1 star is a push with this company! Not long bought a car of this company. After buying it, it took 2 weeks for it to be ready- continuous phone calls to the shop to speak to sales advisor Clive. Kept panning me and my partner off no phone call updates to let us know what is happening. Upon collecting the car no mats in the vehicle ( after being in the vehicle upon viewing) sun visor mirror on passenger side smashed and stains all over the roof which I had to scrub heavily pregnant. Tried to contact Clive via email no response for 10 days.. contacted the shop last Saturday for a call back at 9:30am no call back was received!!!! Partner then rang on Wednesday to be told he will “look†for the mats! STILL NO UPDATE and told to contact a number if there’s something wrong with the car. The WORST WORST WORST customer service ever ever recieved from a car company. AVOID!!!! Don’t want to know you after they’ve had the sale! Disgraceful
I purchased an Audi A3 in December and have had numerous issues since day one. In the first week the battery died, a crack in the front window appeared after recently being repaired before sale and it has had constant condensation issues. They did pay for the battery replacement but having brought the car back to have the window fixed they said a further repair didn't work. They also said they checked the cabin filter but stated they had seen worse and it should be ok. As the condensation still occured, two days later I checked the filter myself and it was covered in dirt, bird feathers and gravel, which indicates the filter wasn't even checked as the debris could have been simply wiped off after inspection. It was replaced at my own expense and there is still condensation in the car which I was told was not covered in the warranty. The V5C form has not been returned from the DVLA and we queried this with Charles Hurst and they told us to contact DVLA ourselves. DVLA informed us that that we are not the registered keeper as no change of registration was received. I have no confidence that the form was even sent and I will now have to pay for the change myself. Additionally, I have just noticed numerous long scratches along the length of the passengers side which have obviously been t-cutted prior to sale. I will never purchase a car from Charles Hurst again and would advise others not to.
